Feeding Program

Vulnerable children are waiting for someone to provide them support.  They need food, clothing shelter, education, medical care and especially love. Jesus said, “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you made me welcome, lacking clothing and you clothed me… Whatsoever you do for the least of my brothers and sisters, you do for me.” (Matthew 25:35-40).

Our congregation also engages in the ministry of caring for the aged. We usually visit families as part of our charism of compassion for the sick and the elderly.  While visiting these families, we also evangelize by encouraging the members of the family to be good Christians and we provide counselling to broken families.

Many elderly persons are left with minimal care, hence they feel lonely and abandoned.  Some have no food to feed themselves and others are sick and cannot access medical treatment.  We do the little we can to support them from our meagre resources and we feel a need to support more, which is not always possible.

At our Motherhouse, we also have a group of elderly people who come for a feeding program.  In the past we used to be funded by a foundation called HelpAge Kenya but financial support from this program stopped several years ago.  Some of these poor people come to get their meals from us while others cannot come so the sisters try to deliver food to their homes.

We need increased financial support so we can reach out to many more of these vulnerable children and seniors needing food.

Vulnerable children needing support, including food, clothing and shelter. “Is this not the fast that I choose…Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?” (Isaiah 58:6-7)
